About Mural Arts

Welcome to my website

I’ve been an artist in Houston for over 20 years and it’s been quite a ride. Having received a degree in art from the Art Institute of Houston in the late 80’s, I’ve had the privilege of painting at the Aquarium restaurants, Texas Children’s Hospital, 24 Hour Fitness and many other good folk over the years. I never saw my murals through anyone’s eyes until I started painting the traffic light boxes and spoke with a passerby about the effect that art has on people. It’s a gift that I can take these little sticks and colored goo, mix it all together and it creates something that brings people joy. What a blessing. I thank all the people along the way that taught me, the ones that supported me and mostly God in my life that continues to set my life in a better direction.

The Creative Process

Explained below, the process of conception to creation of your original artwork begins with your imagination and ends with my paint brushes. Some exceptions of the process can exist as the process of painting for each client is fluid but it is generally a straight forward process beginning with your ideas and a phone call.

1

Connect

Either by telephone, email or in person, I connect with the client and begin the process of assessing the customer’s needs and offer my artistic possibilities tailored to each individual or organization. I offer a quote based on the scope of the work required.

2

Design

After the laying out and agreement on the direction of an individual project, I begin the renderings and sketches to present to the client. Preliminary drawings are often rendered with actual photographs taken of the work area to give the most accurate representation of the finished mural.

3

Implement

Time to sling paint. I begin the work as agreed upon throughout the design process. My quotes are based on an approximate time to complete a mural. Though the actual time to complete, if extended over and above the days estimated does not add to the cost. The process of painting a mural ends when the client is happy with painted results.

4

Enjoy

Enjoy. It is now your responsibility to enjoy your new spaces. Whether it’s inner space or outer space, land, sea or sky, the client can relax in the original and tailored artwork that the client commissioned and took part in to transform their own personal space or business.
